The Vision

THE VISION

Owners Jason & Kayleigh Pierce wanted to create an approachable upscale bar & restaurant that would honor the history and heritage of the historic Andrew Kirk Brewery building while also providing a warm, welcoming and comfortable environment in which to enjoy fine food and expertly crafted cocktails.

When customers enter The Copper Crow they’re immediately greeted with the vintage 42’ long bar and back bar that was salvaged from the Malt River Brewing Company in Latham before it closed. In the nineties the Malt River Brewing Company, along with C.H. Evans & Big House Brewing in Albany and Brown & Moran’s in Troy, were the first establishments to usher in the era of the brewpub in the Hudson Valley and Capital District just as the late of the commercial breweries in Albany, Newman’s, was closing.

Sitting at the bar customers can choose from a menu of expertly crafted cocktails, a carefully curated selection of sixteen local and regional draft beers & ciders, wine by the glass or bottle and an extensive selection of common & boutique spirits. The craft cocktail menu features a collection of familiar favorites & classics, seasonal drinks and unique Copper Crow cocktails sure to please the palate of even the most discerning cocktail enthusiasts.

Antique Victorian era gates, antiqued copper verdigris wallpaper & greenery visually separate the bar, with it’s stool and high-top seating, from the dining room and lounge areas of the restaurant. Towards the rear of the space the owners clad the walls with salvaged wood from another 19th century Albany warehouse and white washed ship-lap siding.

As customers enter the rear lounge area of the restaurant their eyes will most likely be immediately drawn to the large copper framed murals depicting workers in 19th century breweries like the one in which they’re standing. A quick glance to the left or right and out the old vintage windows are scenes of Market Street as in appears in days long past by and the skyline of Albany as it appear in the late 19th century. In the lounge area comfortable couches & chairs offer the perfect intimate spaces in which to converse with friends and an alternative to traditional dining.

In the dining room patrons can choose to dine at a traditional dining table, family sized banquettes or for larger parties, in a semi-private front dining area. Those seeking a more casual experience can grab a high-top at the bar or make their way back to the lounge. In the warmer months a wrap around deck provides ample outdoor seating.

When it comes time to eat customers can choose from an eclectic array of internationally inspired global fusion dishes that incorporate ideas, ingredients and methods of preparation from around the world. By finding new and interesting ways to combine exotic flavors with familiar ingredients, the Copper Crow’s food menu, initially developed by founding chef Chef Timothy Gates & owner Jason Pierce, and refined by our current Executive Chef Seth Corey, finds a way to be both exciting and cutting edge while still retaining an approachable comfortable feel to the food.

Conveniently located right off 787 in Albany’s North End warehouse district and with ample onsite parking, the Copper Crow is easily accessible to residents from all over the Capital Region and is the perfect spot to having a drink a quick snack before catching a show at any one of Albany’s premiere concert & event venues, to have a casual drink with friends or an upscale dinner or celebration of a special event.
